Description/Job Summary

To function as a team lead of the department and operate a milling machine to cut, shape, or form metal work pieces to specifications


•Maintain standard 5S expectations
•Represent department Supervisor and Manager in a professional manner
•Provide process and/or product related liaison support between team members and support/customer departments
•Ensure Supervisor/Manager is aware of requests and/or inquiries from other departments
•Provide first line of defense for process related issues
•Coach team members in the skills needed to perform work in a quality and cost effective manner
•Remain aware of scheduling and capacity status to ensure that immediate assignments or reassignments are done
•Assign and/or reassign work as needed
•Perform OJT training in a professional and timely manner
•Fabricate and modify parts to print specifications, drawings, or verbal instruction
•Work with minimal supervision and prioritize workload to support production customer delivery goals
•Perform accurate and timely 1st part inspections, as well as any other inspections required by the Machine Shop Manager
•Identify (including nonconforming dimensions) and separate all nonconforming parts
•Produce parts at a rate which meets or exceeds accepted production standards
•Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management
•Focus on continuous Lean Manufacturing improvement and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
•Work effectively with all Stealth departments to exceed internal and external expectations
•Stealth retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

Required Skills

•Must be a team player, detail-oriented, and honest
Must have the ability to:
•Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment
•Read prints and work to print specifications
•Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gages
•Operate basic machine shop equipment, such as milling machines, lathes, drill press, and band saws
•Lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Must have:
•A willingness to learn and/or adapt to new work methods
•Good verbal and written communication skills
•Proficiency with hand tools, both power and none powered

Required Experience

•1 year work experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Experience

•Current or previous successful employment experience with Stealth Products

Preferred Education

•High School Diploma or GED
•Vocational training in related trade
